Wetland restoration hydrology: re-plugging drainage ditches across 180 hectares raised water table by average 34cm. The peat was oxidising and releasing CO2 at 7.2 tonnes/ha/year. Now a net carbon sink at 2.1 tonnes/ha/year sequestration. A 9.3 tonne/ha/year swing from one simple intervention. Water makes the difference. #Wetlands #PeatRestoration #CarbonSink
